How To Include Your Kids In Your V-Day Plans

Valentine’s Day may be about passion and romance for some, but for parents, weekend getaways and romantic dinners for two are rarely on the menu. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t embrace all the fun you can have with your kids on this special day. Here’s how to include even the littlest loves of your life on this holiday of love and romance.

Family Dinner Date – Skip the reservation for two and let the whole family join in. Besides, quality family time can be just as fun, if not more, than one-on-one time with your partner.

At-home Spa – In a perfect world you may be heading away for a spa weekend, but who’s to say you can’t have that at home? Take turns having a bubble bath, play calming music, and making mud musks.

Scavenger Hunt – Create a Valentine’s Day adventure by writing clues on paper hearts and hiding them all around your home. Each clue should lead to a special gift or message at the end. Possible gift ideas? Handwritten notes of love, appreciation, or certificates (i.e. no chores for a week, extra television time, sleepover pass).

Bakers Dozen – Valentine’s Day and desserts basically go hand in hand. Choose a few recipes you and your kids can make together and subsequently, all devour together – in the name of love! For those with orthodontic treatment, try to find recipes that are healthy while also tooth-friendly!
